Cape Town Market was the Platinum Sponsor of the All Fresh Conference held in Cape Town on 17th and 18th September 2007. Following on from the successful sponsorship of the 2006 All Fresh Conference Cape Town Market adopted a similar theme and provided the delegates with entertainment at the opening ceremony and at the gala dinner by courtesy of David Kramer and the late Taliep Peterson.
The Premier of the Western Cape, Honourable Ebrahim Rasool, opened the conference.
Cape Town Market was a sponsor of the Potato SA Conference held at Somerset West on 19th September 2007. The conference was attended by many potato producers from all over the Republic and saw the launch of the new Potato SA logo. During the gala dinner Cape Town Market provided an evening of fun and entertainment with the appearance of the Cape Town Market Hawker Boys andslide guitarist Hannes Coetzee. Hannes Coetzee is a guitarist from the Karooregion in South Africa. Born in 1944 he is mainly known for his unique playing technique using a spoon in his mouth to play slide guitar. This playing technique is called optel and knyp. Coetzee reached a broader audience when David Kramer‘s documentary Karoo Kitaar Blues was released in 2003.
