The Cape Town Market is a distribution point for fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers. Prices are determined by supply and demand. However, one of the important by-products of the Cape Town Market trading system is that it provides a way of establishing prices upon which trading, both through the market and outside the market system, can be based. In other words, the Cape Town Market is the place of price determination.
